Pagan Holidays
Pagans celebrate eight days of vacation per year, what we call "witches". You can find the list of consultants holidays and some familiar. This is because these parties have existed long before Christianity arrived. When the Romans tried to ban Paganism thousands of years, many pagan holidays were changed into what is now celebrated as "Christian" vacation. But many real reasons that took place has remained the same. Here is a list of our Major Sabbaths, and when they occur.
Samhain (Oct. 31) – This year is the new pagan ", and marks the end of one year and the beginning of another. Meanwhile, we pay tribute to those who have far from us, and also recognize the changing seasons. We tried to stop the bad habits later of Samhain (pronounced SOW-in) and try to focus on things that must change in our lives. It is also the time of "death of the Sun God, who will be reborn at Yule.
Yule (December 1921) – This festival is essentially our "Christmas" celebration. We celebrate by lighting of the Christmas tree, and seeing the sun (symbolizing the rebirth of the god of the sun that day). Given that Sabbath celebrates the winter solstice, celebrate the beginning light back to earth. We celebrate this holiday by exchanging gifts, decorating a tree, hanging wreaths and mistletoe, singing, partying and having fun!
Imbolc (Feb. 2) – Imbolc (pronounced IM-Bolk) is the time when pagans celebrated the renewal of fertility. In winter slowly turns to spring, we are reminded that life is about to explode. Imbolc celebrated by planting seeds, or start new projects … anything that puts emphasis on the "beginning" of things.
Ostara (March 1921) – Ostara (pronounced ah-ah-STAR) is almost as celebrated as Easter. On this day we celebrate the renewed life and fertility of eggs boiling and decorating, eggs and seeds of blessing goes hunting for growth. Anything that celebrates fertility and growth!
Beltane (April 1930) – Today is a symbol for us of God and Goddess unite in a wedding proof (marriage). In this case, help the earth to burst with life and growth. Beltane celebrates dance around the maypole, or use flowers, leaves and hair, or taking flowers to the house.
Litha (June 21) – Litha (pronounced Tha-lee) is the summer solstice, and usually not celebrated as much as the other witches. This marks the day when God and the Goddess are at their peak, but soon the days get shorter and shorter. In the past, pagans celebrated this evening with a bonfire, but recently he is marked with lots of love and rituals and rites in nature.
Lammas (August 2) – Lammas is the celebration of the harvest of the first pagans. This is the day when the first grain tradionally decreased. It is traditional to celebrate this day by baking bread or other cereals food. "We also celebrate by organizing large festivals to celebrate the abundant harvest, and decorate our homes with autumn decorations.
Mabon (September 21) – The second harvest festival for pagans. Location of the autumn equinox to celebrate the last fruits and harvest of the year. Festivals are also held in celebration, but a more formal level. Horns of plenty are a cause People such as corn, squash, pumpkins and other vegetables next season.
Also the last eight major Sabbaths, most pagans celebrate "Esbats", which are held once a month to celebrate the moon. While witches celebrate the "God" aspect, the Esbats Celebrate the Goddess "in appearance. Esbats place at full moon.
